Welcome.

Famous for its stunning choice of emerging artists and highly acclaimed choreographers, NOTT Dance is now a major national festival. Celebrating its eighth year with the largest and most ambitious programme to date, the festival showcases top international, national and regional artists in an inspiring array of events, small in scale but big in ideas.

This festival plays host to four international projects, three of which are UK premiers. Cologne’s leading experimental moment company, The Healing Theatre tour to the UK for the first time with Eine Kliene Frau. New York’s John Jasperse mixes dance, performance art and fashion show in the unmissable Exessories. For the 50th anniversary year of Indian independence, Imlata Dance Company bring together an impressive range of martial artists, acrobats, musicians and stunt men, alongside contemporary dancers from the UK in a spectacular outdoor premier of Beyond The Walls For Men.

Amongst some of the more established artists such as Javier de Frutos and Small Bones you will find work previously unseen in the region in the mixed bill evenings. A Border Crossing matches talented young Scottish dancers with some of Britain’s most innovative choreographers and there’s an unconventional line up in His ‘n’ Hers, showcasing quirky cross art form collaborations.

Having all appeared in NOTT Dance before, Short Stay Visitors, Heather Rutland and Live Bait represent some of the finest companies working in the region. Chosen for their quality and the clear direction in their work, the companies present new commissions set to tour nationally later this year. Meanwhile the NOTT Dance platform; 5LIVE, showcases work from artists in the very early stages of their careers.
